These are work socks and are washed with work clothes

You get 12 pairs which doesnt seem like a lot but then youre holding an armload of them above your sock drawer wondering where youre going to put them and why your life has so many socks in it and realizing you could wear two pairs most days and still only do laundry once a week which means you are in a privileged position vis a vis socks and for only ten dollars
