Pros
The onboard heatsink that comes with it is more than sufficient. It's not to bulky but is less'streamlined' than other m.
Cons
The drive is completely unusable and amazon are not willing to assist in the return as it is 2months outside of the two year return policy. Amazon are unable to provide a customer contact number for gigabyte uk yet purchase stock from them?

I just got it so i cant speak to anything like longevity but im very happy with it so far
Competitiveness
A year on and still the fastest ssd in the market
This is one very fast ssd when run with an x570 motherboard but a word of warning it does run very hot
Excellent copper heatsink which i wanted to install four of them in the gigabyte gc4xm2g4 aorus gen4 aic adaptor full pcie 4
I hadnt realised the write speeds are a lot slower on the 500gb version 2500 mbs compared with 4400 mbs for the1tb and 2tb versions

Unfortunately there was no way that they could be installed unless you completely remove the full copper heatsink which by doing so i would imagine would invalidate the warranty

Some boards put something there to support an unshrouded drive aka pretty much all of them

As you can see from the photos this isnt my 1st one of these drives as these are generation 4 they are super quick at read and write speeds depending on how you want to use them you can have an os go from cold to up and running in seconds

They do run quite warm especially as they do sit well one of mine close to the gpu luckily mine is water cooled so doesnt ever reach abnormal high temps the software that you can download separately is certainly a wise idea not necessarily for the formatting but for upgrading the firmware etc
