The battery in this lasts for about 10 hours or so before it needs recharging
The screen display is very good and it does have the ability to run off its own battery for ten hours but the camera must be plugged in

The camera has to be plugged in at all times power packs and cables all included but the monitor can be used wirelessly so you can move it around with you

The kit is more or less plug and play add power to the camera turn on the receiverscreen and you have an image the kit i received had the camera and screen already paired

As for range with the antenna on the basescreen extended i had no issues or drop outs when moving around the house the house being an average brickbuild 1940’s semi there were a couple of dropped frames and skips noticed but this were only brief interruptions while moving around with a number of thick brick walls between the screen and receiver

On this device you don’t get an option to record so this is something to be aware of

You have the option of playing back lullabies and other soothing music selectable from the screenreceiver you also have the option of full pan and tilt functionality the pan and tilt function operates virtually noiseless so it won’t disturb a child
