The silicone end protects my lips and teeth. The tips are a little challenging for me to get on, but i don't feel overly compelled to use them. The rubber tips protect your lips from the burning metal when you sip hot tea.

The silicone tips are a must have for a tea drinker, like myself! I drink alot of herbal/loose-leaf tea, and enjoy it steaming hot. a flavorful and refreshing tea experience during hot weather.

Cons

Two brushes and only one straw in an unopened package. But, to have big chunks still get through is not acceptable.
