Pros
Replacement bulb is difficult to find locally, but it is the only choice. Stand the unit upright, turn it on, and replace the light cover and the two screws. Reinstall metal shield with the 4 screws and reinstall the filter and rear cover.
Cons
The odor control is about the same, if there's anything being done at all and there are still remnants of sleep odor and muskiness in the room. Removing the bulb cover was a pain (small screws hard to turn but easy to lose once no longer in the unit) ... Read More
The bulbs are advertised to last 10-12 months depending on usage conditions. Germguardian is unresponsive to any requests for support or warranty. It's mildly concerning.

Here are the replacement instructions unplug the unit lay the unit on its side lengthwise so that the back filter cover is facing toward the ceiling remove the filter cover and filter remove the two screws holding the cover to the light remove the light cover twist the old light out of the socket making sure to hold the white part on each end

Do not touch the glass as your filters will leave a film of oil on the bulb which may cause problems later

Also the blue alien light near the top of the unit should now be on as well

Remove the rear cover and filter and you will see the metal shield covering the bulb
