Its been 2 over years since i installed a new oil pan on my mr2 spyder and to this day there has been no oil leaks whatsoever

If the price wasn’t so high i would have given 5 stars
Read some reviews about this and thought it was a little expensive for silicon but thought i would give it a try

Toyota makes the best professional gasket sealant in the market
Its probably equivalent to some of the better rtv sealants out there but im no chemist and i have no interest in experimenting
The toyota packing sealant works better than all the others have tried
Recently i had to replace a water pump on a toyota engine

The several youtube videos i watched showed putting a dab at each of two corners towards the front of the engine where the gasket makes sharp turns and coating the connecting surface of the two halfmoons which are at the rear of the engine

When i removed the old gasket which may have been the original and half moons i could see that whoever installed it also put something like rtv in these spots

For noncritical applications regular rtv is usually fine and is less expensive
