All advertising for this product portrays it as a simple plug and play device however it took some adjusting to be able to simply hear it through the computer

However there are no basic instructions for using audacity and one oversight at least is not informing buyers that if they want to actually hear what they are recording they must go into audacitys preferences and tick the playthrough box

Also you have to unplug the turntables usb in order to hear the mp3s played through windows media player

Finally while audicity is included free and is great for recording to actually convert to mp3 youll have to download lame

For the price i would definitely recommend it just be prepared to spend a little time online figuring out why its not working if youre not a computer whiz

Being it a modern turntable it should come already with a preamp for the home theateraudio system

Easy to assemble and install the majority of the unit is made of plastic while the actual turntable is metal
