Using gentle swings with the arm and just a little wrist adjustment does the job. Not at all fatiguing. But my shoulders were certainly sore after heaving rounds around with it.

It comes as an unfinished wood handle with red powder coated head. Lacquer wood finish with a yellow painted head and handle. The only negative is the coating on the handle.



Cons

Purchased this tool after much deliberation and was super disappointed. Broke on 6th hit into split firewood disappointing. Not 100% sure it would stick into a freshly baked loaf of bread.

    Have lost grip strength so need to wrap handle with string to keep from slipping when wearing gloves

    If you want to try this yourself i used an angle grinder with a knotted wire brush for the metal part and a scraper for the handle

    I used chemical paint stripper and a hand wire brush for what remained

    Then i handsanded the entire handle smooth and rubbed in some linseed oil all over the whole thing

    To get them into my tractor loader i was manually rolling them over to the loader then tipping them into the loader which required further adjusting to keep them from tipping out

    Like a fool i ended up spraining both of my wrists pretty bad which took me out of action for several weeks
