You can take the time to remove the malethreaded studs on the gearmo plugs but you are left with a hole in the soft plastic body of the plug that has no metal threads and thus still no way to make a 100 secure connection between the gearmo and the serial device itself

So you just have to rely on the plug fitting snuggly there is no secure way to attach the two plugs together

They are cheap but they are also horribly unstable

After installing the drivers it worked right off the bat on my system and it didnt even change the com port assignments when i plugged into other usb ports
