Pros & Cons
Pros
Ge dimmer is decent looking, and that's nice! Well made product. The only downside is reliability. This is a smaller form factor which is much appreciated in the remodel world.
I like this newer version as you can install line and load wires either way and it detects which is which. It's actually slightly smaller to install in the box as well. This switch is less thick then those cheap ones.
Instructions include how to toggle the led on or off. There is now a jumper for the ground wire to make daisy-chaining multiple switches even easier.
Cons
The lights this was dimming are two cree downlights rated at 12. They flicker horribly at certain points throughout the dimming range.
Something is wrong or misleading about this product inventory as i am the second reviewer to have this problem. Also some 1st gen sold on amazon seems to be mislabeled and are in fact 2nd gen.
This is unusable and will be returned asap. I was tempted to just charge-back and send them back even but after going through all the hassle of installing over 30 of them. Tech support attempted to assist without success.
Highlights
Quality
Easy to install works great with my edison style dimmable led bulbs no flickering whatsoever
This is one of the newest models and they have definitely made improvements
Most of these work for about a year before needing replacement…zwave burns out
Physical installation of the switch took about 15 minutes and did indeed require a neutral white wire
Price
I guess there is a reason they are cheaper
Packaging/appearance
First its a bit too wide for a multi gang box
Competitiveness
Seems to operate better than the older version of the toggleswitch variety from the same vendor
I highly recommend these over the levitons

I was a tad wary of installing these as other users reported that it made their leds flicker but i have several different brands of led bulb in my house ranging in age from brandnew sylvania leds to four year old priorgeneration leds philips hue and random big box offbrand dimmable bulbs

The ease of not having to identify lineload wires no more pulling off the metal tabs and the fact theyre not as deep make installation take about half the time as the old ones did

Just in eyeballing the lowest dim level it seems like these can go lower than the lastgen dimmers could but thats not a very objective assessment as i dont have all the same bulbs and dont have a luxmeter
