Pros
The lid is double walled for safety. Easy to install and works great. Effortless install and a good price.
Thermometer seems to be very accurate and durable. Numbers are a little small but adequate. Accuracy is acceptable with a measured deviation of + or - 20 degrees. Unsure od accuracy but seems good.
Cons
The gauge is not waterproof. The water evaporates during grilling, but next rain it just leaks inside again.

I’m generally pleased with it but have no idea why it reads temperatures up to 1000 degrees

The dial was not as large as expected because the bright steel ring is oversized leaving a dial with a little over 234 in actual size
