Pros
The gardena is the cadillac of lawn sprinklers. The coverage of the sprinkler is fantastic. It also comes with a quick hose attachment. This is the best lawn sprinkler i have ever used.
It seems very sturdy and from other reviews it seems like its fine in full sun for 3 years so i have no complaints. If it lasts the 5 years it is guaranteed for then money well spent. Loved them.
Just the smoothness of the motion and water flow alone is actually quite impressive. While it is for smallish areas, (10 x 10 feet) it is nicely adjustable. Each end of the sprinkler bar is independently adjustable with very durable plastic tabs.
Cons
This is the worst money i've ever spent on a sprinkler. Also bought a gardena nozzle sprayer and the inside seal stated leaking. These are still just plastic sprinklers that don't last very long.
Gardena's customer support is non-existent. It supposedly has a five year warranty but there is no way to make a claim. That is unacceptable.
When you set it in place only to come back a half hour later to see it has oscillated out of place, well that tends to be a bit annoying. Cleaned & troubleshooted based on instructions no help. It no longer is oscillating. Sometimes it got stuck a... Read More

Quality
I purchased both the little gardena 38124 zoommaxx and its bigger brother dont know the model off hand and am very happy with both
It also comes with a quick connect and the sprinkler end is one piece with the unit so no leaking another nice feature
Plastic parts seem a little flimsy so time will tell if the quality justifies the price
One note i couldnt hit the ranges advertised on the product especially with the big one but my water flow situation is less than ideal here

To me it was worth the price
Great little sprinkler for a good price
Would happily pay 2x the cost for one of these
Packaging/appearance
The tabs to change the water angle is better designed and is less prone to break off like the melnor
It was always removed from the hose after each use and stored in the shade
Competitiveness
I have a lot of lawn to water and no inground sprinkler system
Its really easy to adjust so no more overspray on the sidewalk or onto your car in the driveway

I owned the melnor 65074amz xt turbo for one year before the plastic wings broke off rendering it useless
