The flavor is great and the texture is not spongy like some soy products can be. Good source of protein.
Use with masked spuds and heinz baked beans. The spice (fennel) gives it an extra authentic taste of real meat. I'm vegan, and where i live (a small mountain town) it is very difficult to find vegan items.
Love baking these in oven (set it and forget it) i pop them in the air fryer and it gives them a super nice texture. Served these in a good bottled red sauce over spinach spagetti.
Cons
To each his own meatball. The flavor is really not there unless you like the taste of bland play-doh.

However if you are not a vegan but want to cook for a vegan be aware that lots of longtime vegans dont want their meatballs to be too real looking or tasting

A certain chain of furniture stores sells a version that is very good but is nothing like a real meatball

Its my understanding that chefs prefer gardein because a chef can use gardein products in their existing recipes with little change
