Passthrough charging works as advertised and the port is lightning so if you are near and outlet and want to play and charge you can do so with your ipads power adapter

The controller halves are held together by a rubber strip that stretches across the back of the ipad which is fine but there is no way to separate these things so i have a pretty bulky new addition to my bag
