The 1000xm3s have a built in microphone that only works over bluetooth and since you cannot connect via bluetooth to a console i opted to purchase this boom mic so i could use it for chat and stero while playing video games

Since this worked for me i assume those individuals that couldnt get it to work forgot to update their firmware on their controllers which is required for this boom mic to work

The foam piece over the mic is not tightly held on nor is it so lose that it falls off on its own
