Pros

It definitely helps relieve discomfort, along with adding some weight training and stretching. I use this every time my legs are exhausted (which is often, i am a fitness instructor), and they immediately feel refreshed.

A smooth roller has a smooth outer surface while a textured one could have a variety of knobs or protrusions covering the surface. The texture of the roller feels good as well when i rub my hands and forearms. It is not ridged or rough on the skin.

Not too overwhelming for a beginner either. Would recommend. Buy it and watch jared beckstrand.

Cons

There are several indents in this foam roller from what seems like a heavy object being pressed into it for a prolonged period of time causing it to leave several permanent indents. Using it is painful. Hurts my back to use it.

Less than 6 months after purchasing this product is mushy and useless. Would recommend reputable brands like optp.
