Pros & Cons
Pros
Mesquite 8 watt led is small enough, yet bright enough to fit many specialty bulb applications. It's equivalent in brightness to an old fashioned 40 watt incandescent bulb but it uses only 8 watts and runs a lot cooler. They replace halogen bulbs that... Read More
Highly recommend this product. We are very pleased with the purchase and expect savings in our air conditioning bill to show up soon. Longevity will depend on how the power electronics in the bulb's base control voltage and current to the leds.
Good dimming performance with no flickering. They dim very nicely as well.
G7 makes a wider variety of bulbs that fit in tight spaces. These can be used in close proximity to fabric unlike incandescent or fluorescent bulbs. Work beautifully with a cfl/led dimmer switch.
It's a warm hue compared to bulbs over 3000 which are cooler or more bluish in color. Slightly brighter, and less yellow. We have several leds tha get green t low, and blueish and whiteish at high.

The light quality is great much brighter than the existing bulbs
Now if i can only figure out what to do with the 300w halogen kitchen overhead light
First of all one of the bulbs came with the lens disloged from the bulb
Price
Great bulb and the price was very economical for an led bulb
The price is reasonable particularly when you consider the long life
I started with tcp pro bulbs and liked them but not the price
The price was only 30 more than the halogen deal at the local box store
Packaging/appearance
The downside to g7 is the packaging
Competitiveness
Good color good output all in all a very nice replacement bulb for a par20 halogen
35000 hours estimated life and a 5year warranty from g7
However they are not dimmable with my lutron switches
This is a dimmable par for focused rather than diffuse lighting tasks with 480 lumens output similar to a 45watt incandescent bulb
