Pros

Great deal for a portable raid, but there's a couple points to know. Usb 3 requires a power cable. The mini is nice and compact. Fast enough to edit sd video footage, and a great back up drive.

This drive blows all other backup drives out of the cyber pond. The only complain i have is you are required to use the software to switch from the orignal raid0 mode to raid1 mode, no hardware switch. This drive is one way of addressing the issue.

Cons

G-tech's g-raid mini is a substandard hard drive. Don't rely on g-technology's warranty. Never buy one from hitachi. Data recovery costs $1,000.

Competitiveness

I have to call the technical support line to find out where to download the 64bit version which is not provided on the website

Now i wish i would have gotten the larger 2tb andor the full gdrive system

My other one is the first 500gb g raid they made which is still running
