To make your foot at right angles to your leg you have to tighten the ankle wrap really tight maybe they can improve the design by making the ankle wrap less likely to slip down your leg

I see the problem your leg tapers as you move down toward the ankle so maybe the padding in the wrap could taper the other way idk
