Pros & Cons
Pros
Focus isn't an issue as it has a snapshot mode that is designed for street photography. As you know, this sets the aperture to f5. I read that the auto focus was a bit rubbish, but it's perfectly adequate for my requirements.
I am so glad i ignored the reviews, it turns out to be a fine little camera. It's quick enough. Not a deal breaker.
Cons
The autofocus is quite poor with a lot of turning of the lens before it locks on the subject.
Highlights
Quality
I used it extensively yesterday and the image quality is most definitely a step up from the x70 along with the af performance
Used it in 2 gigs with very good results no smartphone in the market will deliver pictures with this quality in that low light ... Read More
The sole feature for which this camera was really made to compete with the ricoh gr series as a street camera
So even though the build quality lags behind the x70 im keeping it and the x70 will be up for sale soon
Price
I bought this camera at an excellent price knowing it has generally mixed reviews
Competitiveness
I bought this as a pocketable camera that can pull off a publishable image if need be and it easily fits the bill
And you know what this is cheaper than a 28mm equiv fuji lens alone without a camera attached
I have other interchangeable lens cameras and was looking for a small pocketable camera with a large sensor
The ricoh griii doesnt have a flash and is nearly twice the price of the fuji
