I simply unfolded it and wrapped the two ends around the edges of my washer so that the 4 magnets could hold it in place as i ironed

Works fine for the small things magnets are too weak to stop some slippage during ironing

The mat is slightly larger than the top of my washer and dryer but not quite long enough to go over the edges and have the magnets stick securely to the sides of the machine
