The problem was that the microphone would always end up pointing down away from my face and i would lose sound going to the sound board

Be aware though that the boom is a little long so with a younger person it will push the microphone in front of their face so breathing noise might be an issue and plosives might also be an issue

On an adult it puts the microphone right beside the mouth so it should be alright
