The padding is there though im not sure it really makes as much of a difference as id hoped
I knocked off a star because of the wristvelcro area
At first when you try them on they feel good but after 10 minutes of riding internal stitching in the thumb area starts to rub your skin and becomes very painful after a while
I do not recommend those
