This light runs on two aa's. I already have rechargeable batteries (like most people) it gets 30 hours of battery life on cheap nimh's. It has more light output from 2 easily available aa batteries than my surefire with two cr132as.

The light is very bright and the battery lasts a long time with responsible use. It's amazingly bright.

Cons

The halo around the center spot produced by the foursevens has a slight, pale almost yellowish cast, somewhat reminiscent of incandescent light. The one i received is definitely not green, as one of the other reviewers here reported getting.
