If like me you are using bottled ink and fill the pen by dipping the nib and operating the refiller the pen will work straight away

I did find that the cheap cartridges which had been in my desk for years did not work very well and i had to keep cleaning the nib to get it to work

I switched to zenzoi cartridges and it worked fine after that but not sure why the converter is no good
