Historically whenever i needed to hold something soft in the vice i would either swap the jaws out or use a couple pieces of wood as soft jaws however on one of my vices the hard jaws cannot be easily removed so i thought that i would try these magnetic soft jaws

You can also flip them over so that the smooth top flange faces inward if you need a flat surface but the magnets dont hold on as well depending on the shape of the original jaws that were on the vice
