Pros

It has a clamping force of 5500 pounds, more than enough to get your job done. The mouth of the clamp is wide enough for almost anything i want to do. The action of the screw is okay so far, and the jaws feel like they get pretty tight.

Overall quality is high, the only dislike is the bench dog. The way the slide is built is far superior in quality to the others priced accordingly.

The jaws have nice sharp serrations that grip well. Each jaw face has slight indentations in a circular pattern. The jaws open wide enough to take on just about any project.

This vise is heavier and thicker. Operation is smooth. Hefty, well-built, smooth operation.

Cons

When tightened down, the tops meet but there's a gap on the bottom of 2. Not acceptable. The poor attention to detail, however, shows up in non-parallel jaws.

There were no instructions in the box no hardware and no pads for the jaws though those are easy enough to make

Competitiveness

The way the slide is built is far superior in quality to the others priced accordingly

Ive had others that are the same size that cost alot more that broke under light use

Design wise it is very similar to those models with just a springloaded backlash takeup held in by a roll pin

Its is no lesser quality than the one at lowes or home depot
