Pros

Fore is a very straightforward solution, that allows you to use the mpc strictly as a midi controller. The fore cable is able to handle sysex data and i was able to reflash my dx7. The price of this one is worth it in a pinch if i just need to connect... Read More

The level is set nice at about -5 db, so plenty of headroom for mastering. The only downside is that the devices i've received has had a slightly different names - usb midi, usb midi interface.

Cons

When everything is working correctly the device blinks red and blue. When i plug in the usb cable, the device list collapses and re-extends, but still no connection.

When i started playing midi to my piano, a whole bunch of notes were played wrong. The connection between the midi output and the converter has failed somehow, or the converter itself has broken.
