I decided to repurpose these strips by making fly traps out of plastic cups because i was fearful that one of the numerous hummingbirds or oreoles would get caught up when trying to catch the flies nearby

What i do is pull the string until it forms a 56inch rigid cylinder and then use it as a lightsaber to chase the flies d it is very effective that way slightest bit of contact and they are stuck
