Manufacturer contacted me to say they had actually been adding filling to the beds so this one just received would be defective

This would also probably work for a dog that was 25lbs and under because there is room to spare with a 78 lb cat on it

The bed itself is pretty thick and puffed up quickly upon taking the outer wrapping off it comes rolled up
