The mattress cover is nice and soft on top but has the waterproof laver on the bottom that like others have said does not make a plastic crinkle sound at all with movement

The mattress protector felt and sounded like plastic and the fabric on it was very pilly

But wash and dry separate from other baby stuffs as the bit of plastic backing makes the other items smell of plastic at least the first wash did
