Pros
The fiskars paper cutter is perfect for small projects involving normal weight paper. There is a grey line at cutter so you know exactly where the cut will be. As long as the blade is sharp, the cut is straight and easy.
Have since used on everyday projects. It is slower but more accurate. The quality is good and it's precise.
Perhaps the tightness is due to newness.
Cons
Good luck in getting the instrument out of its plastic casing. There are 2 small razer-type inserions that fall out of casing. The trimmer is off. The resulting cuts are ragged, crooked, and in a different place on every sheet.
It's possible that i just got one of the few poorly made ones. Relied on the brand name. It is very frustrating.

You slide a plastic guider over a taut metal string to do the cutting but the string isnt that sharp if your finger touches it lightly and its even hard to touch without explicitly trying to
