Pros
Stands-up easily on its own - well balanced - if one is not placing on a hanging or horizontal rack in garage. Stands 36-inches in height.
Heavy head, sharp blade and perfect taper to the wedge makes splitting hardwood a breeze. I always have to split again maybe 1 in 4 pieces of the wood i buy to make it more manageable. Hard to imagine there is a better maul is out there.
Heavy enough to do the job easily but not so heavy it is tiresome. The fact its lightweight is a big plus that doesn't detract from its sturdiness and reliability.
Cons
This maul head is cheap cast not forged, made in taiwan or vietnam not finland.

Because i am not the only one splitting all three of my teenage boys also split wood and lets just say over strikes on the handle are not too uncommon and wood handled axes simply cannot stand up to that abuse time after time like these splitters can
