Pros

Filter notably lowers tds (total dissolved solids) in the water. This is important for keeping the unit operating well and reducing cleaning cycles. Great tasting water, literally 15 second swap out.

Great addition to the opal. Easy to install and use. Seems to have worked well. It's super easy to install.

Cons

The opal icemaker is extremely delicate. It continues to overheat. Best i can ever get is half a day if ice before its blinking it needs cleaned again.

Opal is hard to get clean and keep clean for any length of time. Obviously defective. Tiny amounts of cleaner in bottles, makes it seem like half spilled out. Poor product packaging.
