The dark gray has a rough linen feel and the light gray feels like a t-shirt. The color overall is lackluster. They're lightweight; the downside is that they're flimsy.

Hard to say if the floppy nature of mine is a defect or by design. The hinge part is very thin and flimsy. No strap or snap. Overall i think the holder is a little large for a standard us passport.
