Fine continues its ethos of “shortest ingredient list possible” with its shaving soaps. Works well with the aftershave line so why not?Slickness, protection and glide, that’s why. All those extra ingredients at Talbot, Barrister & Mann or A & E really give them an edge over the Fine product. Love their aftershave though, and Fine Platinum is a favorite so props for a great scent.Still, you can get a great shave with this stuff. Rumor has it the formula is identical to the soap base of Tabac, which is an all time great. If you are coming from Colgate or Barbasol it might be the best shave you ever had. But if you have a tub of artisan soap to shave with, this may represent a tiny step down in performance.I have all of those fancy brands and some may be a little slicker, or have more skin nourishment or whatever. But I’m very happy with the performance of Fine soaps and that tiny step down still represents one of the best soaps in the market. As I go through the soaps I already have, I’ll buy another Fine soap. They’re very good. They’re also firm triple milled soaps so they last. If you are on the fence, give this stuff a shot. If you lather it right you’ll be a happy shaver.  Read Less
