Water is still very drinkable. Compared to my 10 month old oem lg filter. Instructions say to let a couple of gallons of water go through to flush it out after it's installed.
The filterlogic seems less dense to me than the lg. Easy to install, high quality with reasonable price.

The first drink wasnt tht great so maybe it needs to settle in a bit as the water here is heavily chlorinated
