I called bge customer service and they recommended their nomex gasket along w 3m super 77

Then spray on the super 77 slowly and carefully stick on the nomex gasket even though its a straight piece of material it follows the circular egg quite easily while pressing it down then close the egg for about 24 hours for the adhesive to dry

So that means the people at lowes put it togather and didnt do a good job with the gasket seal
