We bought this to run a hot wire at the top of a small pasture and paddock to keep horses from pressing down on the nonclimb horse fencing because the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence even when there is no grass on the other side of the fence

The only damaged part was the top of the reel and didnt affect the wire at all

Its working well for me but the heat of a torch as one expects can wreak havoc on this aluminum wire you have to really watch overheating and breaking the line
