It penetrates through eschar to begin healing the wound from the inside. It decreases pain at the site. The foam will absorb the drainage allowing the sore to dry. I have gangrene on my toe and needed the padding for it works very well!

Its a little pricey for the average user although it also comes in smaller sterile packages that already have the adhesive included so its a little easier to use when one doesnt want to have to precisely measure a wound

Takes me 3 to four weeks for wounds to heal on my leg and only about a week with this system

Tape is used only to set the patch then a tube compression bandage is slid over it to hold it in place

Polymem is great for speeding healing of skin ulcers or other wounds but this variety nonadhesive does require adhesive tape to hold in place

The only downside is regular scissors would not cut the polymem or adhesive tape
