Pros

Do not overfill the valve. The lipped lid allows the snout to be pushed in and pushes gasket out. Instructions are included, with diagrams for us visual learners out there.

Water heated to around boiling (and cooled) mixture to throw fruit/vegetables in. Fermented some peppers as well as kombucha.

Cons

It's useless if it doesn't stay airtight. It’s is nothing coming into the airlock but rather around the lid. Really seems like it should be a rubber gasket to ensure an airtight seal.

Plastic lids fit inconsistently from one to another. Threads and engages poorly with ball wide mouth jars. And then they are hard to unscrew.
