Without them the system wouldnt work as well

The speaker has to be lifted over and slid down on top of the pole but unfortunately there is no way to attach them or secure them to the stand

I do not have much concern with the speakers falling since it does allow them to spin and again they have to be lifted up off the pole to be removed
