The blades are chromeplated steel if the plating wears off you’ll begin to get corrosion on the blades

I don’t see that as a huge issue — if you use a ‘rust eraser’ and keep the blades lightly oiled they should be fine

If that troubles you the model 310 has stainless steel blades

Unlike the model 310 snips which has blades held together with a replaceable not and bolt the blades of the 322 are riveted together

If the rivet works loose your snips are toast

But the model 322 has robust and comfortable steel handles while the 310 has rather cheapfeeling plastic ones

Finally the model 310 is made in italy the 322 — originally produced in japan — is now made in taiwan not in communist china
