Ive only had my new pump and this gasket on for about 2500 miles and i dont smell antifreeze anymore

Use proper torque specs and youll be fine

It works great on my 1998 buick regal with the 3800 v6 i purchased an ac delco water pump which came with one of those papercork gaskets
