However, without a full laboratory of testing equipment, it is hard to tell if they will actually function in an emp or solar flare scenario.

They are metal because of course theyd have to be.

But because this is 2019 and not 2059 the material still behaves as a metal foil would- its prone to sharp creases by sharp edges.
