Pros
Quality is solid and top shelf. Value as to its cost is pleasing. Nice, thin and has a blue subtle light.
Once connected go into main menu find multimedia find external usb device and format external drive. Just plug and play. There is a progress indicator and timer that tells you how much time is remaining.
Fantom drive works great with my dish hopper 3. Bought to use on dish with hopper and joeys. Hard drive inside is made by seagate, #st2000vm003-1et164.
Cons
Hard to recommend this one. This product has a problem and is worthless. Must delete then make sure not to go over that amount. Returning to amazon had to return.
Drive is not recognized by either of my two dish receivers. Confirmed there was only one usb port being used on the dvr as instructed.

Had the cables and power cord plugged in and it did its thing now they have a dvr

One important thing i did not know is that you do not have to transfer recordings back to you dvr in order to watch them

Lastly if you are current dish customer and have a hopper dvr then there is no additional fee for this 2tb fd external hard drive

I then unplugged it from surge protector then the power switch on back of unit disconnected the e says then used the usb cable plugged it back in flipped the power switch within 5 sec it was recognized and the hopper was ready to re format it
