I fly my phantom 4 out as far as it will go without the boosters before getting the weak signal message and then put on the boosters while i leave the drone hovering in place and get a full signal again right away and continue flying further

You have to point the curved metallic part of the boosters directly at the drone for it to boost the signal dont point the tips of the antenna at the drone

In a straight up altitude test without the range extender the controller begins reporting a weak signal at around 500

With the extender and carefully aiming because the signal is highly directional it goes over 1000 before a weak signal warning notification
