The eyefi pro works in a sdtocf adapter in my canon 40d when configured to connect to a full wireless network wireless router on dsl connection to internet without requiring that pictures be sent to a photoserver on the web

I tried contacting eyefi and they provided detail instructions but in spite of that i could not make it work on adhoc connection

Side note eyefis customer service is great they were able to refundtransfer a geotagging subscription i purchased for the lost card so i could apply it toward the new card

I think the geotagging is based off wifi triangulation

You can even setup the card for an ad hoc connection so wireless uploads go directly to your computer

Finally the selective upload feature is helpful because it lets you select which images you want to upload so you dont waste disk space with bad photos
