Would have preferred the mat to be inch or two wider and 50 thicker however as it is it is just enough to protect the marble when fire place tools are accidentally dropped from say a foot high but probably not from 3 ft

Cleans with ease very good value for money we use this to protect the marble hearth of the fire place as we noticed it was getting darker by the heated coal dust falling onto the marble when the stove door is open for refill

Close enough and the embers would have cooled on it way falling down
