There is a con this drive doesnt detect some dvd writeable discs and if youre trying to read an incompatible dvd on mac the dvd drive gets caught in an infinite loop of trying to read the disc overandover again and you cant eject the disc through your macs software controls

And just like the real mac superdrive theres no physical eject button

The various superdrive fixes for this issue like drutil eject or holding down left mouse or trackpad while rebooting to eject doesnt work for this drive so to fix this i had to plug the drive into my windows laptop and only then was i able to eject the disc from windows
